St Ives is across the peninsula on the north coast — twenty-five minutes over the moors from Newlyn. Tate St Ives and the Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden are the reason to make the trip; Porthmeor is the reason to stay the afternoon.
Park at Lelant Saltings and take the branch line train in. Driving into St Ives in August is a decision you make only once.
